I run my 17hmr if I'm targeting fox I want to get a 17 rem or HH. I've thought about getting a 204 but heard they tend to blow up fox.

I actually just made a topic under the firearms section about the new .17WSM.
I've been running a .22 mag and 40gr. JHP's. I take only good shots and it lays them flat.

The .204 seems to be very picky on ammo when it comes to fox. I haven't found / used anything that didn't destroy fur no matter where i hit.
Loadout:
Howa 1500 .204 Ruger / Nikon Monarch 4-16 / 32gr Fiocchi VMAX
DPMS Panther Carbine AR .223 / Nikon Buckmaster 4-16 / 55gr Hornady VMAX
Frankengun AR 24" BB .204 Ruger (RETIRED)
Wicked W400 Predator Light Green/White

I loaded up some reduced loads for the .223. 45gr V-MAX at 2700fps. I hope this reduces damage some what.
I don't think very often;
